The first full-time General Secretary of the General Sunday School Board in the Church of the Brethren, Ezra Flory, minister, elder, and educator, was the father of MC alumnus, Paul Flory. Ezra Flory received his Master of Arts degree from Manchester College in 1918.

Kenneth Brown, Religion and Philosophy: Protests

On 13 May 1969, a mass marriage ceremony and tent-in took place on the Manchester College campus.  The purpose was to initiate a "change in attitude...tak[ing] the form of students assuming freedom and responsibility in determining the direction of their lives."

 O. W. Neher served as Acting President at Mount Morris College following the presidency of Professor W. W. Peters and prior to that of C. Ernest Davies. His dates at Mount Morris spanned from 1924-1932.   When a fire forced Mount Morris to close its doors and merge with Manchester College, Neher came to Manchester and taught Biology from 1932-1954.

A large collection designated as MC2011/227 and divided into 5 folder groupings; [1-16], [17-22], [23-44], [45-83]. Schutz was a professor at Manchester College, as well as a farmer, public speaker, pastor, candidate for Congress (Indiana,1932) and a contendor in the 1936 Governor's race. He was a Kiwanis Club official and Chairman of the Standard Life Insurance Company of Indiana. The collection describes Indiana before and during WWII.  Schutz corresponds with soldiers and provides names of North Manchester men killed in combat. Schutz was a contemporary of Andrew Cordier who participated in some of Schutz's political involvements.

A large collection designated as MC2011/227 and divided into 5 folder groupings; [1-16], [17-22], [23-44], [45-83]. Schutz was a professor at Manchester College, as well as a farmer, public speaker, pastor, candidate for Congress (Indiana,1932) and a contendor in the 1936 Governor's race. He was a Kiwanis Club official and Chairman of the Standard Life Insurance Company of Indiana. The collection describes Indiana before and during WWII.  Schutz corresponds with soldiers and provides names of North Manchester men killed in combat. Topics of import include; prohibition, economic recovery from the Great Depression, and Hitler's impact on Europe. Schutz was a contemporary of Andrew Cordier who participated in some of Schutz's political involvements.

• A large bible.  The way the objects were organized it appears that this bible might be from the "Living Faith" Church of the Brethren, since the other bible was identified as being from "Flora."    This bible is also beautifully engraved with illustrations.

Correspondence regarding tornados of 1965, also referred to as the Palm Sunday Disaster.  The Kokomo, Indiana, Church of the Brethren building was completely destroyed, and in other parts of Indiana four Church of the Brethren people were killed and four injured.
